When my wife and I set out to buy our first home, I didn't even hope that we would find a realtor with the knowledge and integrity that Monroe possesses. When looking for a condo or single family in JP, Roslindale, or West Roxbury, Monroe was continually a great source of market knowledge and reason. He was very helpful in discussing what made a home comparable to others, comparing features and prices, and after going to open houses he would go back to his office and research the properties to check previous sale prices and sale prices of comparable units (helping us avoid over paying in several cases). But probably most important to my wife and I was that Monroe is patient, he stuck with us through an incredibly competitive spring and summer while we placed offers on homes and were outbid. He also exhibits a high level of integrity, repeatedly advising us to not get too caught up in the process, take our time, and not over pay or make risky offers (such as waiving our right to a home inspection, which others were doing at the time). Beyond his knowledge of the real estate market in the area and in general, his understanding of the neighborhoods (which can almost have a different personality from one block to the next), his patience, and his integrity, he was simply a great person to work with. If you are going to spend your Sundays at open houses, you might as well spend it with someone who is nice to be around and seems to have your best interests in mind.
